If you are a charity, school, or organisation supporting families of children with SEND, and you feel the families you work with could benefit from our services, we would be delighted to collaborate with you.

We can:

Attend parent groups to provide 1:1 guidance and support.

Work in partnership with you to ensure families feel informed, confident, and empowered.

Provide referral forms so you can easily connect families to our services.

Volunteer Roles

Volunteer SEND Advocate

About the role
As a Volunteer SEND Advocate, you will support parents and carers to understand the SEND system and feel confident navigating processes relating to their child or young person’s needs. You will provide guidance, information, and practical support, helping families feel heard and empowered.

What you’ll do
You will respond to enquiries from parents and carers, helping them understand their rights and the processes involved in SEND support. This may include explaining EHCP processes, supporting with school-related concerns, and helping families prepare for meetings or next steps. You will communicate with families in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner, and maintain accurate and confidential case notes.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for individuals with a good understanding of SEND processes, including the SEND Code of Practice. Experience in supporting families, education, or advocacy is beneficial. You should have strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to manage sensitive situations professionally.

What you’ll gain
You will receive ongoing training and support, gain valuable experience in SEND advocacy, and be part of a supportive team making a real difference to families.

 

Volunteer Parent Networker

About the role
As a Volunteer Parent Networker, you will help create a welcoming and supportive space for parents and carers through our online support groups. This role focuses on connection, community, and peer support.

What you’ll do
You will support the running of online parent groups, helping to host sessions, introduce guest speakers, and ensure sessions run smoothly. You may also help manage sign-ups, send joining information, and keep parents informed about upcoming sessions and events.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who is confident communicating with others, enjoys supporting parents and carers, and can work collaboratively with professionals and the wider team. Organisation and reliability are important, as well as a friendly and approachable manner.

What you’ll gain
You will gain experience in group facilitation and community support, build confidence working with families, and be part of a team creating meaningful connections for parents.

Volunteer Admin

About the role
As a Volunteer Admin, you will provide essential administrative support to our team, helping to ensure the smooth running of our services. You will assist with data management, and help maintain systems that support our advocacy services.

What you’ll do

Assist with processing consent forms and creating records.
Help maintain accurate records, including, managing documents, and updating databases.
Provide general administrative support as needed, including email correspondence and preparing materials for team use.

What we’re looking for

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
A proactive attitude and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Experience in administration support is desirable but not essential.
