Volunteer Roles
Volunteer SEND Advisor
About the role
As a Volunteer SEND Advocate, you will support parents and carers to understand the SEND system and feel confident navigating processes relating to their child or young person’s needs. You will provide guidance, information, and practical support, helping families feel heard and empowered.
What you’ll do
You will respond to enquiries from parents and carers, helping them understand their rights and the processes involved in SEND support. This may include explaining EHCP processes, supporting with school-related concerns, and helping families prepare for meetings or next steps. You will communicate with families in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner, and maintain accurate and confidential case notes.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for individuals with a good understanding of SEND processes, including the SEND Code of Practice. Experience in supporting families, education, or advocacy is beneficial. You should have strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to manage sensitive situations professionally.

Social Media Volunteer
About the role
As a Social Media Volunteer, you will help us reach more families by sharing clear, accurate and engaging information about SEND. This is a remote role with flexible hours, supporting our online community and raising awareness of our free services.
What you’ll do
You will create and schedule social media posts, including graphics and captions, share up-to-date SEND information, and promote our services, events and resources. You will also monitor comments and messages, flagging queries to the appropriate team member where needed.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of SEND law, experience using social media platforms, and good IT skills. Creativity, reliability and the ability to communicate clearly, sensitively and accurately are important, alongside an understanding of the challenges faced by families with SEND.

You will develop your digital content and communication skills, receive ongoing training, and join a supportive team. With flexible volunteering that fits around your commitments, you will help more children, young people and families access information and support.
